Le fromage prend ses quartiers
english below
The cheese moves in
Introducing French cheese culture to international audiences is the ambition behind the French Cheese Board in New York and La Maison du Fromage in Tokyo, both launched by CNIEL. Combining retail, exhibition space, tasting experiences and a culinary laboratory, these venues invite visitors to explore this heritage through a playful, educational experience.
For Ich&Kar, the studio behind both the spatial design and visual identity of the venues, I create the illustrated content: an interactive cheese map, dairy breeds, cheese families and cutting diagrams. In New York, these illustrations feature on magnetic walls and in diorama boxes, creating interactive displays that can be easily updated. I also contribute to furniture design, modular space planning, and the development of visual identity and communication materials.
In Tokyo, I design a cherry blossom pattern that extends throughout the pop-up store, bringing Japanese references into dialogue with French cheese culture. I create the educational illustrations and contribute to the spatial layouts and magazine design.
